Bainbridge High dropped its fourth straight football game Thursday night, losing 27-24 when Eastside Catholic scored a fourth-quarter touchdown on a 17-yard pass from Trey Reynolds to Matt Callans.

It was the Spartans’ second three-point loss to a Metro League opponent. Seattle Prep scored a late touchdown earlier this month to beat the Spartans 24-21 at BHS Stadium.

Thursday’s game in Sammamish was a close one throughout as the lead changed hands seven times. The Spartans led 10-7 after one quarter and the score was tied 10-10 at halftime. Eastside Catholic led 19-17 after three quarters, but the Spartans went ahead 24-19 in the fourth quarter on Max Wysong’s second touchdown run of the game.

Bainbridge (4-4 overall and 1-3 in league play) was led by the rushing of Wysong (127 yards on 26 carries) and quarterback Chris Bell (109 yards on 15 carries). Bell scored on a five-yard touchdown run and also completed four of nine passes for 76 yards.

The Spartans will play a district cross-over game next week against a team still to be determined.
