SEATTLE – Several Spartans topped the charts at the recent girls District 2 golf tournament, including one top-10 finisher.
Kendall Havill was the best from Bainbridge in the tourney, tying for ninth place overall with Interlake’s Nhi Nguyen. Her finale score was 86 (44 on the front, 42 on the back).
The tournament was hosted by Rainier Beach High School.
Perennial powerhouse Taylor Tye finished in 28th place (95 overall), and the elder Havill sister, Kiera, finished 36th.
Rounding out the Bainbridge results, Lucy Hanacek claimed 37th (101) and Sara Colley 49th (114).
The Bainbridge High School girls varsity golf team won the Metro League title for the third time in seven years in November 2016, having beaten out duffers from Lakeside, Seattle Preparatory, Holy Names Academy and Garfield for the championship.
The ladies last grabbed the top spot in 2012, retaining it for another season after their first win under BHS Head Coach Ian Havill in 2011. The team’s record with Havill at the helm is 68-5-2.
