BAINBRIDGE – The Spartans outlasted the Beavers and BHS beat Ballard 4-3 Monday in a two-inning wrap-up to their weather-suspended varsity softball matchup earlier this month.
The Bainbridge-Ballard game on April 13 was stopped in the eighth inning with the score tied 3-all thanks to the rain, and in the finisher on April 27, the Spartans plated a single run in the ninth inning to break the deadlock.
For the Beavers, the ending proved to be as aggravating as the April weather. The Spartans finally finished off the Beavers as Natalie Allen was sent to first on a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning to drive in the winning run.
Deahna King pitched for Bainbridge and finished with nine strikeouts and her fifth win on the mound.
In the game’s first installment, Natalya Niehaus had a double for Bainbridge and an RBI.
