After tying their first two contests this week, and going 6-0-2 over the first five weeks of the season, the Spartans dropped their first match Thursday.

After tying their first two contests this week, and going 6-0-2 over the first five weeks of the season, the Spartans dropped their first match Thursday.

Hampered by several injuries, third-ranked Bainbridge (6-1-2) fell to Bishop Blanchet 2-1.

The Spartans play their fourth game in six days at Central Kitsap Saturday.

Tennis

The Spartans followed their upset of Seattle Prep with a 8-3 victory over O’Dea and Holy Names Thursday.

Junior Sasha Carter defeated defending 3A girls singles champion Natalie Allen. Allen bested Carter in their first league match-up this season.

Junior Grace Porter continued her undefeated streak (8-0 in league) with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Cara Williams.

The Spartan boys lineup swept the singles matches, and split in doubles.

Bainbridge will honor its seniors in its last home match at 3:30 p.m. Friday against Bishop Blanchet.
