Girls basketball
The Spartan girls rebounded from a tough loss to Holy Names last week and defeated Kent-Meridian on the road 57-50 Tuesday.
Rebecca Sharar posted a double-double, her second of the season, with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Bainbridge had three players in double digits, Sharar, Kas Totura with 16, and Mallory Farrar added 10.
The Spartans, who improved to 4-4 overall, held off a 22-18 Kent-Meridian run in the fourth quarter to hold onto the win.
Bainbridge currently leads the Metro-Sound division with a 2-2 record. Rainier Beach is in second (1-3) and Chief Sealth and West Seattle are tied for third (0-3).
The team will take a few days off before traveling to Port Angeles on Dec. 29.

Wrestling
The Spartans placed 15th in a 16-team tournament in Centralia Saturday.
