Bainbridge, which has seven players still competing in the league tournament, has received the Metro Mountain’s Sportsmanship Award.

In his 13th season as varsity coach of Bainbridge tennis, Mike Anderson has been named Metro Mountain Coach of the Year.

Anderson guided the Spartans to their first win over Seattle Prep and to a Metro Championship final berth.

Anderson has also continued Bainbridge’s success in the state tournament. The Spartans have had at least one player in the state tournament 21 of the last 22 years. Seven Spartans – three singles players, and two doubles teams – have already earned District Tournament berths.

Anderson coaches alongside Uly Cheng, who is in his sixth year as volunteer assistant. Irva Cooper is in her 12th season as junior varsity coach.
