Three doubles teams from Bainbridge High School qualified for the WIAA State Tennis Tournament during the first round of the Sea-King District 2 Tournament at Lower Woodland Courts in Seattle Tuesday.
Top Metro seed Matt Alderson and Jacob Christensen from Bainbridge defeated the Lakeside team of Rodrigues/Bodas 6-1, 6-0.
The Metro No. 5 Bainbridge team of Keet Curtis and Ben DeVries upset the top KingCo team from Mercer Island of Zack Elliot and Ben Elliot 6-2, 6-4.
And the Spartans’ defending state champion Kate Jameson with her partner Jordan Ferguson beat Lund and Levine of Lake Washington.
All three advance to the SeaKing District semifinals Wednesday to finalize seeding for state.
Still in the tournament is the girls doubles team of Meghan Hill and Sadie Dedon. The pair are in the consolation semifinals and need to win two matches Wednesday to go to state.
Also, Mark Schoener-Scott from Bainbridge High is in the consolation semifinals and needs to do the same.
