The Bainbridge gymnastics team used its depth once again to take home the Metro League championship Friday night at Bainbridge High School.
The Spartans topped the group with 159.75 points, bettering Nathan Hale’s score of 155.925. Both teams qualify for next week’s district meet.
Holy Names took third with a score of 146.05 while West Seattle was fourth with a score of 130.95.
In the individual results, Holy Names’ Katie Rock won the all-around with a score of 35.65. Rock also won the uneven parallel bars title and the floor exercise title.
Nathan Hale’s Naivasha Sophusson-Smith won the vault title while Holy Names’ Javiera Sobarzo was the balance beam champion.
For Bainbridge, Anne Schwartz was the top placer with a fifth place finish in the all-around.
She tied with Ingraham’s Lancy Fong for third in the vault and for second in the floor.
The 3A Sea-King District 1/2 meet is Feb. 12 at Sammamish High School.
